Naiem Reza, also known as Nemo, is a multi-talented poet, DJ, and musician attending the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Majoring in health administration and policy, Naiem is passionate and curious about different methods of innovating health systems in impoverished areas. Recently, he has been working on ways to incorporate philanthropy with art and has applied that to his latest single “Bliss.” After he graduates, he plans to take a few gap years, as well as continuing to compose music and other art projects on the side, before pursuing a Masters in Public Health.

This week’s DDN Spotlight shines on UVA Sharaara, the University of Virginia’s premiere, all-girls, Bollywood fusion dance team. Founded in 2002, this group of passionate dancers has been taking the country by storm while still spreading their love for Indian culture within their homebase of Charlottesville, Virginia. Sharaara prides itself on being an all-female team (who run the world? GIRLS.), and is determined to make their mark on the desi dance circuit this year. Captains, Mili Mittal and Dhara Patel give us a quick look into Sharaara’s dynamics and experiences as one of the oldest teams in the fusion circuit. This month, Bollyshake and EROS are teaming up to give dancers a chance to meet the starcast of the newest Sanjay Bhansali film, Bajirao Mastani. Fortunately, Desi Dance Network has been invited to be part of the party now! We will be interviewing and showcasing some of the incredible talent in our circuit.
